Controlling Labour Costs

The cost of paying wages and superannuation is often the biggest expense in a hospitality business. It is also an expense that an operator has the most control over if they can plan and manage the costs pro-actively.

Without care, however, the costs can spiral out of control and by the time you realise, the shift is over and the damage is done. It's important to include the superannuation you will have to pay on the wages and to only look at the net revenue, ie after the GST component is removed.
