The rise of the finish at home food delivery concept

If there’s one thing we’ve enjoyed about the COVID-19 pandemic it’s the creativity, innovation and can’t-stop-us enthusiasm we’ve seen from hospitality businesses. From  creating an online delivery platform and turning cafes into shop-like bakeries, to preparing high-end, eight-course degustations to eat at home, the industry on the whole has been resilient, and of course, hospitable.

One of the greatest innovations we’ve seen throughout the period is the finish-at-home food delivery service — it’s genius! Customers get the same experience, or dishes they love, and your business is able to stay open, keep some or all of your employees working and hopefully, you turn a profit.

One of our favourite providers of finish-at-home cooking is Providoor. Providoor is a new delivery service that provides residents of Melbourne and Sydney (and surrounds) access to top-quality, restaurant-worthy food, to finish cooking at home. Punters make their order online, whether it’s on Providoor or the venue’s website, and the meal is delivered for a flat rate of $16.50.

We’re fans of Providoor for a number reasons though perhaps most alluring is its commission rate. Providoor takes only a 15% commission for organising next day cold freight delivery as well as payment. It's a great proposition for businesses and offers customers a unique experience of a simple DIY meal that is restaurant quality, it also avoids rider and delivery partner exploitation and provides a great opportunity to upsell.
